I was 8 years old during the summer of 1995 when this song came out and to say that summer sucked for my family would be an understatement.  The only thing that got me through that summer was music–I’ll Be There for You by the Rembrants, Roll to Me by Del Amitri, Barely Breathing by Duncan Sheik, Run-around by Blues Traveler, I Believe by Blessid Union of Souls, and this song were my summer that year.  One of the most memorable days that year was when my dad and my brother sang this to my mom in the hospital, where she had spent 4 months after being diagnosed with muscular dystrophy.  My dad must have taped the song off of the radio and bribed my brother with something to get him to sing, but it was the sweetest thing.

The reason I chose this song today (aside from the fact that it was playing on my Itunes) is that it is the perfect lesson for the hero of the book I reviewed here last night (Dukes to the Left of Me, Princes to the Right).  I bet if Bryan Adams was around during the Regency period, he would have smacked Nicholas on the back of his head (Gibbs style) for treating Poppy the way he did.

Romance novels have been a part of my life since I was 14 years old and one of my neighbors dropped off a laundry basket full of Harlequins. From that day on, my nose was always in a book. I started my first review site in 2013, but took some time off for personal issues in 2018.
