Since finishing The Passion of the Purple Plumeria, I have been struggling to get through a single book.  First, there was Dukes to the Left of Me, Princes to the Right, which as anyone that has read this blog in the past week and a half knows, I absolutely hated it.  Then, I decided to re-read the first book in the Jaz Parks series, but I just couldn’t get into it for some reason.  Finally, I thought I had come out of it with Deadly Vows by Brenda Joyce, which I loved when I first read it last year.  However, I’ve been a bit distracted for the last few days, and I haven’t felt much like reading.  Instead, I binge watched the last seasons of Hart of DixieNew Girl, and Once Upon a Time.

You see on Friday, I found out that I need to have all 4 of my Wisdom teeth removed.  Yes, I said all 4.  Ouch.  All along I thought I was having a really bad sinus headache–occasionally, I would feel pressure under my eyes (on my cheekbone, I guess), which usually means my sinuses are acting up, but I definitely didn’t think it was my teeth.  On Thursday, however, I ran my tongue over my teeth while lying down from the pain, and I was jolted by a sharp pain in my mouth.  After searching my insurance’s website for a dentist within close proximity to me, I ended up with an appointment on Friday morning (my first since I was 8 years old–I was not a very good patient, so my parents gave up taking me).  Within a half hour, I found out that I needed to have 4 teeth out, and secured a consultation with an oral surgeon for this coming Tuesday.  Boy, is that going to be fun, especially considering my fear of (a) dentists and (b) needles.

I have a feeling I won’t be reading anything for awhile, so be warned, I doubt this blog will be updated very often.  More than likely, I will continue my binge t.v. viewing (I’ve got discs 1 and 2 of the second season of Chuck coming on Tuesday, not to mention a slew of shows and movies available on Netflix).

Romance novels have been a part of my life since I was 14 years old and one of my neighbors dropped off a laundry basket full of Harlequins. From that day on, my nose was always in a book. I started my first review site in 2013, but took some time off for personal issues in 2018.
