Since finding out that I need to have 4 teeth out a couple of weeks ago, I haven’t been in the mood to do much other than binge on Netflix.  However, I have recently started two books, What Happens in London by Julia Quinn, which I am sad to say isn’t as engaging as the other two Quinn novels that I have read, and Calculated in Death by J.D. Robb.  I’ve been meaning to read this book for months, ever since it came out, but the stars haven’t really aligned for it.  I am about 10% done with it and hopefully by Friday I will have finished it–I’m also painting my apartment, so I don’t have a lot of reading time available right now. 🙁

I’m also waiting on The Chocolate Touch by Laura Florand, which is the Smart Bitch book club pick for September.  I’m not really looking forward to this book because I absolutely hated the last book in the series, The Chocolate Kiss, and because I had a bad experience with Ms. Florand at the last book club chat–I found her to be both very rude and very egotistical in dealing with people who have, for the most part, read and liked her book.

I am still waiting to have my teeth out–my appointment is on October 24th, so as long as I don’t end up in pain, I will read and update this blog on a somewhat regular basis.  My next appointment (a cleaning) is next Monday, but after that I don’t need to go back until 10/9.  The only thing that might get in the way of me writing is that I am in the middle of moving back into my apartment, which was destroyed by Hurricane Sandy last fall (I refuse to call it a superstorm on principle–the insurance company refused to pay out because technically it wasn’t a hurricane anymore and no one has “superstorm” coverage).

Romance novels have been a part of my life since I was 14 years old and one of my neighbors dropped off a laundry basket full of Harlequins. From that day on, my nose was always in a book. I started my first review site in 2013, but took some time off for personal issues in 2018.
