Unless you’ve been living in a vacuum, you know that today is the start of the 2015 World Series, featuring the New York Mets and the Kansas City Royals.  Since I’m from NY, I think you know who I think should win.  I’m not even a baseball fan, but I spent my childhood at Shea Stadium for Mets games, most of which they lost.  But that was the 90’s.  I don’t think anyone would have predicted that this could be their year.  Actually, today is the 29th anniversary of the day they won the World Series in 1986, beating the Boston Red Sox and ensuring the Curse of the Bambino stretched into the beginning of the 21st Century.  The last time the Mets made it this far was 15 years ago when they were soundly defeated by their crosstown rivals, the NY Yankees, in what was called The Subway World Series.  That was not a friendly year.  NY sports fans don’t mess around and for the most part, Mets and Yankees fans do not get along.

Today’s video is some trash talk curtesy of Queen and some really great Classic Rock.  Kansas City, Bring It On.

Romance novels have been a part of my life since I was 14 years old and one of my neighbors dropped off a laundry basket full of Harlequins. From that day on, my nose was always in a book. I started my first review site in 2013, but took some time off for personal issues in 2018.

  1. I'm a Yankee fan, but also a New Yorker. I think the Mets have a very good chance of winning this year since they aren't playing the Yankees. LET'S GO METS!
